Human Resources Generalist

Job Purpose

Responsible for supporting Human Resources functions, with a strong focus on recruitment/onboarding and administering employee leave. Additional responsibilities include benefits administration and maintenance of employee data.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment & Outreach: Coordinate hiring efforts, post job openings, screen candidates, schedule and participate in interviews, and manage community relations and career events.
  2. Pre-Employment & Onboarding: Prepare offer letters, schedule screenings, and facilitate orientation. Maintain HRIS and reporting systems.
  3. Leave Administration: Manage STD and FMLA processes, documentation, and communication with employees and payroll. Assist with winter furlough and unemployment for field employees.
  4. HRIS & Benefits: Update employee records, run reports, and oversee benefit enrollment and deductions in Viewpoint HRIS system.
  5. 401(k) Administration: Process monthly deferrals, manage loans, and ensure accurate payroll and vendor updates.
  6. Terminations: Handle offboarding, system updates, exit interviews, and benefit reconciliation.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • 2–5 years of Human Resources experience, with a focus on recruitment, leave management, benefits.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
  • Preferred: Human Resources experience in a construction or manufacturing setting.
